ICTRep: Dramatically Good!

We connect with Wichita audiences on multiple levels: Artistically, emotionally and intellectually. With plays that enrich the mind and the spirit, we elevate our audiences and inspire us all toward “more.”

ICTRep tells the stories that get you talking, that provoke and stimulate and inspire. You’ll want to move off your couch and into a shared, safe space for live theatrical experiences that you can’t find just anywhere. For “dramatically good” moments that are – quite simply – unforgettable, come play with us at ICTRep.

And bring a friend to share the experience.

History

Wichita Repertory Theater was founded in in 2017 by Michael Garvey based on the belief in the transformative power of live theater. With a focus on programming for children, ICTRep brought in a variety of national touring shows, professional working child actors from Los Angeles for lectures, and provided venues for local performance groups. ICTRep also offered a slate of performance art classes for children. After going dormant in the wake of COVID, Dr. Julie Longhofer took the reigns as Artistic Director in 2023 with a vision of building a professional theatre company with a focus on plays from the classic and contemporary repertoire.

Under Dr. Longhofer’s direction, ICTRep strives to produce stimulating and challenging plays with artistic excellence. We believe this has a two-fold impact on the Wichita community. First, we provide opportunities for young actors and creatives to hone their skills on works of real substance and build professional resumes that help them advance in their careers. Second, we hope to elevate Wichita audiences with theatrical experiences that provide more than simply an evening’s entertainment. We want our audiences to continue to reflect on and be moved by the plays we do, long after the “curtain falls.”

ICTRep’s Mission

Wichita Repertory Theater – “ICTRep” – is a semi-professional company that produces comedies, dramas, and thrillers. Our goal is to fill the semi-professional niche for artists and audiences who love plays. Our productions provide challenging roles and design opportunities that allow actors and creatives to hone their crafts. We also want to bring audiences together to enjoy high-quality, vibrant theatrical experiences from the classic and contemporary repertoire.
